VFW She Serves Honors OCIB at the 111th VFW National Convention September 4, 2010

* Congratulations to OCIB for winning a ‘Drive for Charity’ Community Hero Grant worth $5000 from the Southbay Expressway!

* Congratulations to the VFW Post 3787 for receiving a National VFW Award for Community Service!

* Thanks to the many volunteers from CareFusion and Volunteer San Diego who donated items and helped us put together approximately 200 care packages on July 1, 2010!

* Our recent fundraiser “Comedy and the City” held on May 20, 2010 was a great success, raising awareness, money and laughter in support of our troops through Operation Courage is Beautiful. Check out the photos provided by Appel Photography!

The mission of Operation Courage Is Beautiful is to show our appreciation for our courageous military servicewomen’s contribution and sacrifice and to give a little joy and femininity to their service lives.

We ship care packages that contain a range of donated personal and beauty care items that are specifically geared towards women who are deployed in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. Through generous donations these care packages are provided for free to our troops.
