Angela knew from the time she was 11, when she saw her brother graduate from USMC Boot Camp, that she would one day serve.
Angela graduated from Hawaii Pacific University with a Bachelor’s degree at the tender age of 20. She worked in the civilian sector while preparing to enlist in the Army as a Combat Medic. While she was fully qualified to go the Officer route versus enlisted, her reasoning was, “I need to learn to be a follower before I can become a good leader!”
Angela arrived at her first duty station and was deployed to Afghanistan 2 months later. She maintains a positive attitude every day and encourages those around her to remain positive and look for the good in every situation.
Since arriving in Afghanistan, Angela has decided she will attend medical school to become an OB-GYN. She has been able to give classes to the Afghan women on various women’s health issues and is loving what she is doing over there.
